There are lot of things happening at the moment! I have some works in a joint diploma student exhibition Great Expectations... at the Estuary Arts Centre in Orewa that runs until the 24th of October. It is a beautiful exhibition. Fiona lander has done a fantastic job of putting it all together and setting it up, it looks really great. There is a wide variety of work exhibited and it is well worth a look. A very good endorsement for the diploma course!
I also have some work in the Portage exhibition this year, it opened on the 7th of October and will be on show at the Lopdell House in Titirangi until the 5th of December. As always it is a very interesting exhibition and a lot less controversial then last year's! And even though I don't always fully understand the selector's choices I always enjoy looking at all the different works.
Auckland Studio Potters are having their exhibition a bit later then usual this year, it opens on Wednesday, the 13th October at 7pm at the Mairangi Bay Arts Centre in Hastings Road. This exhibition will be on until the 30th of October.
And lastly I am planning my first ever open day. It will be a great chance to have a look at my studio and my kilns, especially the wood kiln that I build last year. There will also be plenty of new pots for sale as well as older works and seconds at very good prices. So please come and join me for a glass of wine or a cup of tea!
